How it Works: Adult Classes at That Art Place

 
 

We offer three different types of Adult art classes:

Clay Handbuilding

  • Sculpt clay with your hands using techniques like slab building, coiling, and texturing.

  • No pottery wheels are used in these workshops

  • No experience needed

  • Clay projects are typically ready for pickup 3 weeks after class

  • Glazes are typically chosen during your class and applied by our staff after the first firing

Pottery Wheel

  • Learn to use a pottery wheel to center and shape clay.

  • No experience needed for Level 1 Pottery Wheel classes

  • Workshops for experienced potters are also offered

  • Glazes are typically chosen during your class and applied by our staff after the first firing

  • Pottery Wheel Class Cancellation Policy:

    Cancellations made 48+ hours before class:
    You’ll receive a refund minus a $10 cancellation fee. You can cancel online by clicking the “Cancel Appointment” link in your confirmation email.
    Cancellations made less than 48 hours before class:
    We are unable to offer a refund or reschedule. However, you may transfer your spot to a friend by calling the studio at (254) 613-4292 at least 2 hours before class time.

  • Missed classes are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled due to limited availability and material preparation.

Fused Glass

  • Layer colorful glass pieces to create the class project.

  • No experience needed

  • You may use creative freedom when making your pieces, but some of the shapes required have been pre-cut for the class and will only be available in certain colors

  • No cutting required for most projects!

  • Fused glass projects are typically ready for pickup 1 week after class.

Details for all Adult Classes

  • All supplies, tools, instruction, and kiln firing are included in the class fee.

  • Classes are one session, unless specifically noted.

  • Your finished piece stays at the studio for firing. You’ll receive a text message when your piece is ready for pickup

  • Adults and teens ages 13 and up are welcome (unless noted otherwise).

  • Space is limited, pre-registration is required.

  • You are welcome to BYOB and enjoy responsibly while you create

Cancellation Policy and Refunds:

  • Cancellations made 24+ hours before class: You’ll receive a refund minus a $10 cancellation fee.

  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before class: We are unable to offer a refund. However, you may transfer your seat to a friend—just call or email us with their name at least 2 hours before class time.

  • Missed classes are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled due to limited availability and material preparation.
